Alfie was under the bleaches, sitting right up in the corner with this strange look on his face. His eyes couldn't seem to focus on any one thing. It was the paranoia again. Usually it was tolerable but this was one of the extremes it could get to. He couldn't focus and was convinced that people were out to hurt him.
He hardly even had any friends and the ones that stayed were the ones that understood because Alfie constantly slipped back into not trusting them and yelling at them, calling them names because he thought they were all just lying and deceiving him. It was a horrible way to live or to treat people but in the end all would be forgiven because they understood but those friends were back home. They were here. Alfie was alone here. He had to start over but who could he trust? Well at this point, the answer was no one.
He couldn't trust anyone and he certainly couldn't confide in them about his various fears and concerns. He as shaking a little, trying to hide and having refused to eat over the last few days he was thinner than usual and still refusing to take his medication. He was certain that they weren't what the doctors claimed they were. it was all other drugs and poisons that would make him worse so that they could keep him here longer! They were just messing with his head just to keep him here! All the doctors and nurses and other staff members were all in on it of course.
He sat there, constantly checking his surrounding, glancing out at the empty field. The snow still covered it and although he had a hoodie on, it was barely keeping him warm. The skinny Brit never much liked the cold but he sat there anyway because it was away from people and he didn't care if he was still shaking. He was watched as he breathed in a slightly quicker pace than usual thanks to the paranoia. It came out and was visible in the cold air. It distracted him for a mere moment because the paranoia got to him again.
He glanced around once more. His knees up to his chest as he kicked to push himself further back against the cold steel of the bleachers to get away. There was someone approaching him and he didn't like it. He didn't know them and he wanted them to go away! He pulled his hood up to cover part of his past in a silly defence, almost as though they might not see him if he hid like that. Yeah right, when has that ever worked? But his paranoid brain wasn't thinking so clearly.

Sawyer Elaina Travis, found herself traveling around the school to explore the grounds a little bit more. She had made friends with Cassie her roommate, but she had yet to really see any other faces up close and personal. Today, she was covering the gardens and the sports fields. She found the garden's to be pretty and peaceful. Everything a garden should be really. The seventeen year old admired the plants for awhile even picking a flower and putting it in her hair. She hoped that it would stay in there for the remainder of her travels, but the weather could change that possibly. The next place she wasn't sure if the teens were allowed to be out there with out a given reason or a practice, but she found herself walking on the fifty yard line and she even spun around a little bit. She liked the feeling of being free. Though it hit her she wasn't really free and she hated the reasoning for why she was here. In her opinion it wasn't anyone's business what she did to herself...it was self inflicted so why should anyone care? Though she was going to make the best of being here and not get caught...it wasn't her style to get caught unless she ended up passed out some place and someone turned her in.
The brunette needed something to clear her thoughts and all her answers were in her pocket, but surely she couldn't just light up a joint out on the field..if she ashed and there was dead grass or something the grass would go up in smoke and yeah that wouldn't be good. He eyes examined the place and a smirk crossed her lips as she saw the bleachers. She hoped no one was boning under there or else she was going to spoil there little fun time..or watch whatever moved her more. She made her way under the bleachers to see a boy trying to disappear in his hood and shook her head some at it. "Where'd you go?" she asked stepping closer and raised a brow as he was like huddled up against the cold steel of the bleachers. "Yeah, okay I'm sorry I tried" she said as if she tried to act like she hadn't seen him but surely she could. Her white breathe amused her in the cold air. Well maybe she could have lit up on the field sense the snow, but she didn't want to chance it and now she had company. "I don't bite...much" she joked letting her personality kind of fly when it came to speaking.
Her eyes glanced over him and she tried to make him out his face and maybe to see if she had seen him on chat or something before, but nah. She took out a lighter and lit up her joint. Inhaling and coughing and not giving a crap that he was just there she didn't blow the smoke in his direction though when she exhaled it. "Heyyy I got something that'll make you chill" she said looking at her joint. "Do you smoke?" she asked and then she thought about it she was just rattling on and he didn't even know her name. "I'm Sawyer by the way and I'm going to call you Casper unless you tell me your name...you know like the ghost Casper in those movies....because you're trying to hide." she said and giggled a little. "Though you're doing a pretty bad job no offense". Yeah on top of being a curious mind she was getting high so getting the girl to shut up was going to be pretty hard. Though she didn't know it was in her blood to just go rambling on. "are you shy because you were you know jerking your chain?" she taunted. Yeah she couldn't help it...talking sex was also in her blood. "or waiit are you okay?" she didn't mean it to be the last question she asked, but she was concerned now that she thought about it.

It was always like this. This was how it started. He would be off his meds and the paranoia would creep back in and simple doubts here and there then escalate to utter fear and helplessness then the urge to fight back would develop and that was when he would get angry and frustrated and even violent. It always seemed to follow the same predictable pattern which did make it easier for his friends and family to deal with once they knew it well enough but this place was new. Alfie did not know anyone here and he had to start all over again.
Alfie saw the girl and moved away not wanting to be seen or heard or even noticed at all but she was still approaching and so the hood came over his head. He was seventeen when when he got like this, paralyzed with fear he tended to act like a scared little kid again. Her reaction wasn't one he had experienced before. It was different even comical. She didn't seem terribly bothered by his actions but he stayed still and quiet, not answering her question because he hadn't gone anywhere.
She even apologized which was different again but skinny little Alfie just sat there helplessly before speaking. "Go away," he said in a slightly raspy voice barely loud enough to be heard. He hadn't even said it in his usually angry tone, it sounded more like a question, like he was asking her if she would go away.. Almost pleading with her to do so.
She made a joke though which should have helped but it didn't. She was one of them and they were bad.. They were all bad and he shouldn't even be speaking to her or he would get into trouble. The usually over-confidant teenager was right now, afraid to even speak to this stranger.
She lit up a joint and he turned away, half his face still covered so all he could see was the ground. He hadn't even looked up to see her face yet but that wasn't important. He glanced back when she offered it to his sneering at it was his immediate reaction like he didn't trust it, like it might have been poison or something but then she had been smoking it... Still, weed was something he needed to be careful with cause sometimes, it just made the paranoia worse.. Often though, it did help so he took another moment to consider it.
She told him her name now which didn't help too much but she was talking to him and Alfie took a chance to slip the hood back a little, just enough so that he could glance around frantically looking for anyone watching them, any security or even cameras. Once he was satisfied, he sat back and looked up at her, this time his blue eyes were visible.
A low unamused growl came out of him when she said her little sex joke. He could not appreciate the humor in it right now. Then she asked if he was okay and Alfie finally spoke again. "I don't know you and I don't trust you," he said like it was just facts and he was just reading it off a page. He glanced up and around again, looking for guards and cameras, constantly dissatisfied with his own surveillance methods.. Maybe they were just hiding them so he couldn't find them..

The boy seemed to be afraid of her, but then she didn’t blame him because there were a lot of crazies at this place, but it wasn’t like they weren’t one of him. He was a grown boy or so it seemed on the outside hiding from a feeble girl like herself. He could pry flick her and she’d turn into the pile of proud bones she was made up of. She did not understand this for one moment, but she watched inexperienced with dealing with the paranoia unless in case the guy was flipping out because he was on something. Yeah, that seemed like the most logical explanation. The teen before her had to be high or something. He was hiding under the bleachers when he could be hiding in his room, but he was getting away which totally explained it all to her. Even though it was completely false. Her eyes studied him for a moment attempting to figure out what was going on with him. She was baffled! Her thoughts were along the lines of ‘come on stupid you live in l.a. you are bound to know,’ because well los angeles, california and parties went hand and hand. What was at parties often times? Drugs!
The go away well she didn’t hear most of it...or well the go part, but the away part she heard. He was using a very low tone and that was when her eyes widened and she realized he thought she was going to hurt him. She bit her lip and she held the joint between her lips for a moment turning all her pockets inside out to show him she had nothing on her but the joint and a match which she used to light the joint. ”I’m not going to hurt you” she said after taking the joint out of her mouth in a assuring voice. Well she was making the assumption that was why he wanted her to go away, but Sawyer wasn’t one to go away that simply. ”And if you don’t want to smoke don’t feel pressured I’m just trying to be nice” she said taking another drag and instead of coughing it out she held it in as long as she could to blow it out her nose. Sure it hurt, but it was a little trick that got you high faster. Then she could save the rest of it for later. ”It’s still lit if you want it though” she said softly spoken this time as he looked to the ground. Well, it wasn’t like the people that walked up to her here...she trusted right away so she kind of got his fear? A little.
Then her thoughts were confirmed by his little words. I don’t know you and I don’t trust you. ”I don’t blame you this place isn’t exactly the most warmly titled school in America” she said kind of making a joke about it. Then she scoffed out the title. ”Hawthorne Academy school for the troubled teens” she said and rolled her eyes. ”I’m not troubled though...I’m here because I’m successful” she said twirling a little bit. ”I’m going to model one day” she told him a passionate smile crossing her lips. ”...but until they realize it I’m trapped in this little place I have to call home now” she said and sighed. ”I hate it here” she admitted. ”The only thing keeping me happy is my friend Mary Jane and my roommate is sweet...” she said puffing the joint again. ”Want some before I put it out?” she asked offering one last time just for good measure.

"Didn't say you were," he said defensively. He was afraid of getting hurt. It wasn't exactly her. It was just the idea of being watched. Thanks to Hoped pointing out the many cameras and how everyone would know everything.. Yeah, that's the last thing you wanna tell someone with paranoid personality disorder. So now he wasn't sure who to trust anymore, including this girl.
He just looked back at the girl, taking another drag and shook his head. It wasn't that he didn't want it. "Sometimes it makes it worse," he said, since it did sometimes cause paranoia too and right now he didn't need that kind of mental state. This was bad enough. He didn't need it to escalate or anything.
He glanced back when she offered it again and shook his head. Usually he'd be alright with that but not right now. You couldn't really tell how it might affect you sometimes.
He glared from under his hood. This school was more than that. Why else would they need so many doctors and psychiatrists and stuff? Obviously they were doing crazy things and drugging them and probably labotamizing them and stuff.
He listened as she spoke though. Then took a risk and took the joint from her. Maybe it would help after all. It was still worse trying. Besides she had been smoking it so how bad can it be?

The defensive tone made her bite her lip and shut her mouth for a moment. Maybe he was one of the bad people and that was why she needed to stay away? A girl could never be sure, but he looked harmless in the sense he was trying to hide from her. "Okay" she said replying back finally in a softish tone as not to get backlash...hopefully? Then he said that it made it worse and she looked at her joint and then back at him wondering what he was talking about. "Makes what worse?" she asked hoping that it wasn't asking for too much by asking that question. Some people liked to stay in secret about stuff. She wouldn't pass judgment if he wanted to keep a secret. It wasn't in her person to really do that. "No pressure" she added in at the end of that. Even though she kept offering, because sharing was caring?
The girl liked weed because it brought her up or down depending on the day and the current mood she was portraying. The crowd also played a lot of how one's emotions were shaped when it came to smoking weed. Today, it was bringing her a sense of relaxation and if he hadn't noticed she wasn't chattering as much which was probably good, because he seemed rather silent himself. Some things were better when there were less said? That was how somewhat of this interaction was going to go. "So what brings you out wayyyy over here?"
Then one last pass in his direction and he had it in his hands at least. She didn't kn ow if he was really going to smoke it or if he was going to like put it out and crush it under his foot, but she watched it prepared for either which situation. The second one though would cause the girl to be sad because it was something she kind of figured she needed, plus weed wasn't cheep in these parts. She didn't know people enough to get 'hook ups'. She stayed silent in anticipation.

She seemed to be nice enough. Maybe she just picked up on the paranoid vibes he was sending and decided it was best to be at least a little careful around him. Right now, Alfie was fine but things could change in a second. If any one word described him best, it would be 'unpredictable'.
"It.. Sometimes.." he stopped, trying to figure out what exactly he was trying to say and how to phrase it right. Maybe he shouldn't give too much away. "It causes paranoia sometimes, i don't need that," he said, putting it as simply as possible.
It was usually fine and Alfie knew that but at the same time, it just wasn't worth the risk. He looked back at her when she asked her question. "What's with all the fucking questions?" he asked, getting suspicious of her as well. Everyone was always asking questions here.. What was up with that? Okay so it hsould be seen as normal but Alfie just couldn't deal with that. The paranoia told him that they were up to something.
He took the joint in his hand anyway thought figuring fuck it, how much worse could it get, before taking a drag of it. He paused for a moment. Yeah, maybe it wouldn't be so bad cause half the time it did stop the paranoia so he took another drag of it then handed it back to her.

Sawyer, well she had good and bad in her much like everyone but the girl in an odd sense had a way with people. Though Alfie seemed to be a bit of a challenge. She didnt know what it was about him that made him that way but she wasnt about to make assumptions! No sir! The seventeen year old occasionally eyed him and well she looked him over especialy when speaking but beyond that no. She hated the feeling of someone staring sometimes...she got self concious unless she could tell it was flattery so she wouldnt try and do it to someone else. His sentence was spaced out and she looked at him as he spoke. "Oh" she said biting her lip. "Well no reason to be paranoid Im quite convinced its just you and I out here" she said trying to be assuring. Though he hadnt smoked...
When he snapped back in question form she sucked in her lip. "Its called conversing and I was just attempting to do so...whats with people fucking acting like I'm trying to get their life story" she shot back not being able to help it. Sawyer could get a little snappy sometimes when people were felt to be snappy with her! It was how it went! "Sorry" she muttered and looked upon the dirt mixed with snow.
The sound of inhaling let her know that he had in fact hit it and she took it back nicely when it was handed her way and ripped it agaim. She shut her eyes and then she slowly moved down getting a little snow and putting the joint out. She hoped that it'd just reach the ash and not he paper. Wet joints didnt relight well! "I miss the sun" she said at random avoiding questions now well for the time being anyhow.

It went quiet for a moment and Alfie didn't feel the need to fill the silence. He did still glance around, unsure if it was safe out here or not. He didn't really trust anything anyone said.
He sneered a little at that. It was silly to believe that. Something was always going on and someone was always watching. They had cameras everywhere.
She kind of snapped back too though just a little and he just watched her for a moment as she explained it. Yeah, she had a point there but Alfie didn't want to listen.
She apologised though and he didn't say anything to that. Just had this look on his face. It was kind of annoying but then it was partly his fault too. It was just hard to get out of that state of mind.
He leaned back a little feeling a little better now. He wanted to glance around again just to check but refrained. He looked back at her again before speaking. "What's your name?" he asked.
