Izzie grew up in a normal family, but when she hit puberty she rejected her body. She wanted to be female. Of course this was impossible in the body that she had now, and wanted to change it as soon as she could. Her parents didn't accept it, so she didn't fully rebel until she turned 16.

She got a fake ID stating that she was 19, and began hormones and even got a surgery by the time she was 17. She had her adams apple removed, so that she looked more like a girl, and planned on getting the other surgeries to completely transform herself by the time that she was 20. She had been saving up money her entire life for it, and just wants to feel like she imagines herself.
